Counselor | Mrs. Holsten

Leah Holsten

Hello! My name is Leah Holsten, and I am excited to serve as the school counselor at MLS. My role is to support students’ academic, social-emotional, and career development, and help every student reach their full potential.

I believe that every child deserves a safe and supportive environment where they feel valued, capable, and encouraged to grow. Through classroom lessons, small groups, and individual counseling, I hope to help students build skills such as problem-solving, self-confidence, friendship, and future planning.

My Background

I earned my bachelors degree in Elementary Education in 2015 from Minot State University and a Masters degree in Education with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction from Minot State University in 2018. After teacher elementary and middle school for a few years I discovered my passion for school counseling and went back to school once again. In 2021 I completed my Masters of Science in Education, School Counseling degree from the University of the Southwest.

I love being a school counselor and I am passionate about helping children discover their strengths and navigate challenges.

Outside of School

When I’m not at school, I enjoy reading, baking, walking, and spending time with my 3 kids.
