Mr. Mark Bjornson
Hello,
I’m Mark Bjornson, the 10-12 English teacher at MLS. I’m originally from Minot, North Dakota. I come from a big family of educators. In my family, we refer to teaching as the family profession (or sometimes, more superstitiously, as “the family curse”). Throw rocks at the people in my extended family, and you’ll hit a teacher every other time.
I have master's degrees in Professional Writing and in Secondary Education.
When not teaching, I enjoy hiking and camping in the woodsy parts of the Turtle Mountains and almost anywhere in South Dakota’s Black Hills. During the colder months, I can usually be found spending time with my family and reading/learning about something.
I enjoy teaching at MLS because of our great kids, the supportive staff, and the close-knit community. At MLS, I appreciate the ability to get to know each of my students and to have the opportunity to help them prepare for their post-high school college and career goals.
I can be contacted at mark.bjornson@k12.nd.us
