Full/Part-Time Custodian
The Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood (MLS) School District is seeking a dedicated and reliable full-time Custodian to join our team. (Some evenings would be required, other times are flexible)
Custodians play a critical role in ensuring our school buildings are clean, safe, and welcoming for students, staff, and the community.
Position Details • Schedule: 12-month position (5 x8 evening (exact hours can be flexible) hours during the school year; 4x 10 hour days during summer months) • Wage: Starting pay depends on experience (DOE) • Benefits: Full-time custodians qualify for the same benefits as certified staff, including health insurance, sick leave, and personal leave.
Qualifications • Custodial, janitorial, or similar experience preferred • Knowledge of cleaning methods, procedures, and equipment • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing ladders, and standing for extended periods • Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to safety • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively • Must pass a pre-employment background check
Key Responsibilities • Keep buildings and grounds clean and presentable • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and sanitize floors, carpets, restrooms, locker rooms, and common areas • Safely operate and maintain cleaning equipment • Adhere to proper procedures for chemical use and disinfection • Perform enhanced cleaning protocols for health and safety • Restock essential supplies (soap, paper towels, toilet paper, etc.) • Assist cafeteria staff with cleaning as needed • Report maintenance needs and safety concerns promptly • Secure facilities after hours (e.g., lock doors, close windows) • Carry out additional duties as assigned
