MLS February Newsletter – From the Superintendent’s Desk

Dear MLS Families and Community Members,

February may be one of our shortest months, but it provides an important reminder of the impact kindness and connection have within our school and community. At MLS, we believe that a positive, respectful environment is essential for student learning and well-being.

Throughout the winter months, when colder temperatures often keep us indoors and routines feel more challenging, small acts of kindness go a long way — a word of encouragement, patience with one another, and support during those challenging days. These actions help create a school culture where students feel safe, valued, and motivated to learn. We appreciate the role families play in reinforcing these values at home and in our community.

February is also a good time to pause and recognize how kindness shows up in everyday ways at MLS — students helping one another, staff supporting students beyond the classroom, and community members stepping in when help is needed. These moments may not always be visible, but they are foundational to student success.

As we continue through the second semester, we encourage everyone to look for opportunities to lead with empathy, understanding, and respect. Working together, we can ensure our school remains a place where learning and kindness go hand in hand.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support of Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood Public School.

Sincerely,
Heidi Newgard
